Alico, Inc.. The Group's principal activities are agriculture, cattle ranching and forestry. The Group owns 140,526 acres of land located in Collier, Hendry, Lee and Polk Counties of Central and Southwest Florida where it conducts its activities. The land is managed for multiple use and the principal activities include citrus fruit production, sugarcane production, sod farming and ranching. The Group sells forest products like pulpwood and sabal palms to a paper company and some landscape companies. It also leases the land for farming, cattle grazing, recreation and oil and mineral exploration. Saddlebag Lake Resorts Inc, a subsidiary of the Group develops and sells real estate while another, Agri-Insurance Company Ltd, writes crop insurance against catastrophic losses due to weather and disease. Citrus accounted for 51% of fiscal 2002 revenues; Sugarcane, 23%; Ranch, 20% and Others, 6%.
