The Company's principal activities are grouped into the following areas: NICKEL: mining, smelting, and refining of nickel, the manufacture of nickel products (high purity electrolytic nickel, nickel and cobalt salts, nickel chloride, cobalt chloride, ferronickel, granulated ferronickel, nickel metal, cobalt tungsten powders and stainless steel); HIGH SPEED STEELS: Production of long products, flat products and powders; MANGANESE: Production of manganese, manganese alloys, ferro alloys and chemicals. Other activities include the recycling of copper solutions and the sale of molybdenum. Manganese accounted for 41% of 2001 revenues; alloy, 37%; nickel and other, 22%.
