The principal activity of the Company is electronic materials and equipment business such as the sale of ultra fine nickel used for mobile phones and computers, machinable ceramics and engineering plastics used for semiconductor manufacturing device and the manufacture and sales of processing equipment. The Company is also involved in the sales of industrial chemicals including finishing chemicals, catalyst, activated carbon and chemicals for water treatment and automotive-use chemicals including automobile polish and aromatic substance. Electronic materials and equipment accounted for 38% of fiscal 2002 revenues; industrial chemicals, 24%; metal finishing chemicals, 22% and automotive-use chemicals, 16%.
