Fujitsu Towa Electron Limited (formerly Towa Electron Co., Ltd.) was established in 1951 and merged into its major shareholder Fujitsu Limited on October 1, 1998. The company was specialized in the production of computer interior components. Composite components including hybrid integrated circuits accounted for 68% of fiscal 1998 unconsolidated revenues; aluminum electrolytic, tantalum solid state electrolytic and metallized film capacitors, 32%. Unconsolidated revenues accounted for 99.98% of fiscal 1998 consolidated revenues. The company had five consolidated subsidiaries, four in Japan and one in China. Overseas sales accounted for 23.8% of fiscal 1998 consolidated revenues. Fujitsu Limited was the major shareholder with 38.51% of issued stock as of March 31, 1998.
