The Group designs and manufactures equipment for the production of terrestrial photovoltaic modules from solar cells. The Group also offers value-added services to biomedical customers, which provide surface treatments to enhance the performance of medical products. The Group conducts research and development activities for the United States government. Biomedical division accounted for 41% of 2002 revenues; Solar systems, 28%; Solar equipment, 27% and Biophotonics division, 4%.
