Columbus Southern Power Company. The Group's principal activity is to generate, sell, purchase, transmit and distribute electric power. The power is distributed to around 678,000 customers in Ohio and supplies electric power at wholesale to other electric utilities and to municipally owned distribution systems within its service area. The retail customers of the Group include residential, commercial, industrial and other users. The principal industries served by the Group are food processing, chemicals, primary metals, electronic machinery and paper products.Electricity marketing and trading accounted for 61% of 2002 revenues; Energy delivery, 35% and AEP affiliates, 4%.
