Northern States Power Company. The Company's principal activity is the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity. The Company distributes its electricity to approximately 230,000 retail customers in northwestern Wisconsin and in the western portion of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The Company also distributes and sells natural gas in the same service territory to approximately 90,000 customers in Wisconsin and Michigan. The Company operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of Xcel Energy Inc. Electric utility accounted for 82% of 2002 revenues; Gas utility, 18% and Other nominal.
