Oglethorpe Power Corporation. The Company's principal activity is to provide wholesale electric service to 39 of Georgia's 42 retail electric distribution cooperative members. These members are local consumer-owned distribution cooperatives providing retail electric service on a not-for-profit basis. The members distribute energy to approximately 3.7 million people across two-thirds of the State. The Company has undivided interests in eighteen generating units which provide a total of 3,660 megawatts of nameplate capacity. The Company provides this service pursuant to long-term, take-or-pay wholesale power contracts. The Company's 39 members include Altamaha EMC, Amicalola EMC, Canoochee EMC, Carroll EMC, Central Georgia EMC, Coastal EMC, Cobb EMC, Colquitt EMC, Flint EMC, Excelsior EMC, Habersham EMC and Irwin EMC.
