SIGCORP, Inc. is a holding company operating through eleven wholly owned subsidiaries: South Indiana Gas and Electric company (SIGECO) and ten other nonregulated subsidiaries. SIGECO is a utility company which generates, transmitts, distributes and sells electric energy and purchases and distributes natural gas. The nonutility subsidiaries invests in leases of real estate, equipments and private placement debt instruments; provides energy related preformance contracting services; processes and markets coal combustion by-products; markets telecommunications services; markets energy and related services and provides financial services. Electricity sales accounted for 51% of 1999 revenues; energy services, 38% and gas sales, 11%.
