Kinder Morgan Incorporated. The Group's principal activity is to provide energy and related services. Of its four segments, The Natural Gas Pipeline Company and The TransColorado Gas Transmission Company operate interstate natural gas pipelines in the Chicago metropolitan area, western Colorado and New Mexico. Kinder Morgan Retail makes regulated sale of natural gas to residential, commercial and industrial customers and also non-utility sales of natural gas to utility customers under the Choice Gas Program. The fourth segment, Power and Other, constructs natural gas-fired electric generation facilities and conducts various other activities. The principal operations are in Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming. The Group operates about 30,000 miles of natural gas and petroleum product pipelines along with associated storage facilities. Natural gas transportation and storage accounted for 70% of 2002 revenues; Retailing, 25% and Power and other, 5%.
