Southwest Gas Corporation. The Group's principal activities are to purchase, transport and distribute natural gas to residential, commercial and industrial customers. The operations of the Group comprise of two segments: Natural Gas and Construction services.The Group has residential, commercial and industrial customers located in Arizona, Nevada and California. Gas supplies are obtained from Colorado, the San Juan basin, the Permian basin, the Rocky Mountain areas and Canada. Construction services consist of the provision of trenching, installation, replacement and maintenance services for energy distribution systems to utility companies. The services are provided by the Group's subsidiary, Northern Pipeline Construction Company and are concentrated in utility service territories where existing energy lines are scheduled for replacement. Gas operations accounted for 89% of 2002 revenues and Construction services, 11%.
