Friendly Ice Cream Corporation. The Group's principal activities are the manufacture and distribution of frozen dessert products and the operation of full service restaurants. The Group owns and operates 387 restaurants and franchises, 156 full-service restaurants and 6 non-traditional units. The Group operates in three segments: Restaurant segment, foodservice segment and franchise. The Restaurant segment offers wide variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner items. Foodservice segment manufactures and distributes packaged frozen dessert products to Friendly's restaurants, supermarkets and other retail locations. The Group has more than 100 food and dessert item in its menu. It also has award-winning menu to children below 12 years and special senior's menu for above 60 years. Restaurant revenues accounted for 80% of 2002 revenues; foodservice revenues, 18% and franchise revenues, 2%.
