Chesapeake Corporation. The Group's principal activity is to design, manufacture and market paperboard and plastic packaging. The Group's three segments are Paperboard packaging, Plastic packaging and Land development. The paperboard packaging segment manufactures and markets corrugated products, folding cartons, leaflets, labels and rigid fiber boxes primarily for pharmaceuticals, healthcare, premium branded products, food, household, multimedia and technology. The plastic packaging segment produces plastic containers, bottles, preforms and closures with primary markets being agrochemicals and other specialty chemicals, beverages, pharmaceuticals and healthcare. The land development segment holding approximately 6,500 acres of land in Virginia presently, consists of Delmarva properties Inc. and Stonehouse Inc. The Group has operations in the United States and in Europe. Paperboard Packaging accounted for 82% of 2002 revenues; Plastic Packaging, 13% and Land Development, 5%.
