Western Waste Industries is a provider of integrated waste services. It collects, transfers and disposes of solid waste in certain areas of California, Texas, Lousiana, Florida, Colorado and Arkansas. The company also operates six landfills, three transfer stations and four recycling facilities. Western Waste Industries does not operate hazardous waste and it also has approximately 90 franchise agreements, 82 of these designate the company as the exclusive provider of certain waste services within a particular municipality of county. Collection services accounted for 83% of fiscal 1995 revenues; landfill operations, 7%; transfer stations, 3%; recycling, 6% and other, 1%.
