South Wales Electricity Plc (SWALEC) distributes and supplies electricity as well as electrical contracting services to domestic, commercial and industrial customers in the south of Wales. The group is involved in electricity generation through its 7.7% stake in Teesside Power Limited and its 5.4% interest in The National Grid Holding Plc. SWALEC is also involved in gas marketing, property development, property management and the operation of a fleet of transportation vechicles. Electricity supply accounted for 64% of fiscal 1994 revenues; distribution, 27%; contracting, 7% and other, 2%.
