ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) is a tough, shatter resistant plastic that exhibits considerable resilience against force or impact.  The pad is made of foamed rubber and covered with fabric for smooth mouse movement, whether mechanical or optical.   The maximum dimensions* of the pad are: A -20cm, B - 45cm, C -14cm, which is sufficient for most mouse applications. Steel nuts are embedded in a plastic casing that can be tightened by hand meaning no assembly tool is necessary, and providing a very secure hold.
