Hollytex is a spunbonded polyester fabric with a very smooth surfacewhich results from compaction of the fibers after forming. An excellentsupport fabric, it also comes light weight with a base weight of only 1oz per sq. yard and a thickness of 0.00025 inches. Our thicker hollytexhas a base weight of 2.4 oz per square yard and a thickness of .00053inches. 5. Mylar film is a tough, clear, 100% synthetic polyester resin filmcombining outstanding durability, dimensional stability and electrical,thermal and barrier properties. It is completely neutral in pH and ofgreat clarity. Mylar is not affected by oils and greases and willfunction up to 300?F, retaining its clarity, flexibility and toughness.Mylar film contains no plasticizers to migrate out onto art ordocuments. These films are either Mylar or Melinex 516. 6. A white 60 lb. paper coated with silicone resin on one side only. Thissilicone release paper retains its release properties right up to thechar point of the paper. 7. Dartek is 0.75 mil thick, clear cast Type 6,6 nylon film with noplasticizers, additives or surface coatings of any kind. It is muchlike Mylar, but softer. As Dartek comes 80 inches wide, conservatorsfind it is useful as a covering membrane for lining paintings on avacuum hot table. Dartek conforms easily, is clear, does not puncturereadily and does not appear to stick to painting surfaces. Dartek issensitive to moisture. The film normally contains about 1 or 2%moisture as shipped. At a relative humidity of 80%, Dartek will absorbwater up to a moisture content of about 6%. The physical properties ofthis film are greatly influenced by the water content. At low watercontent, Dartek seems brittle like Mylar but as its water contentincreases, Dartek becomes softer and tougher. Dartek also becomessofter as it is heated and it does retain its useful properties up toabout 400?F. 8. 100% cotton blotting paper with a neutral pH, unbuffered. Available in 20-pt. and 100 pt. thickness. 9. The replacement for Bostik, an acid free, low melting, thermoplasticadhesive in a fine web form. It is a webbing prepared fromplasticizer-free copolyamides especially formulated for textilebonding. It is an adhesive made from high molecular weight,semi-crystalline, polar copolyamides, suitable for high frequencywelding and steam activity to bond textiles. Melting range is 105? to115?C. 10. Non-woven polyester often used as a support in paper conservation for leafcasting, washing, and other functions. 11. Acid-free, unbuffered with a neutral pH. 12-point paper has a uniquetransparency.
