Notice of Intent to Negotiate a Contract The Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA) has decided to negotiate a contract for Surgicel products (Oxidized cellulose absorbable haemostat), with our current supplier, Johnson and Johnson/Ethicon, for 31 months ending May 31, 2009. The estimated value of this contract is $203,000. VIHA intends to begin direct negotiations with this vendor on or about October 30, 2006 This decision is based on the following criteria: -This product is sole source to Johnson and Johnson/Ethicon, and therefore unattainable from any other vendor. If clarification is required or there are any issues with this Notice of Intent a letter documenting these questions or concerns should be faxed to the VIHA Purchasing Department on or before Tuesday October 24, 2006 referencing file number 229. Any and all issues  received by this date will be given due consideration prior to engaging in negotiations. VIHA decisions in this regard will be final.
