Vietnam Footwear imports increase as China declines

All developing Asian countries (Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, and India) footwear imports increase to the U.S well China declines 6% from previous year comparisons according to the monthly report from OTEXA (US Department of Commerce, the office of textiles and apparel).

China dominates with 53% of all footwear imports to the USA followed by Vietnam with 25%; which is an increase of 15% from the previous year, followed by Indonesia with 5%; which is a 20% increase from the previous year.

In comparison, China footwear imports to the USA fell from 70% of all imports in 2012 to 53% in 2018 well Vietnam grew from 10% in 2012 to 25% in 2018.

Comparing volume China footwear imports to the USA were $13.9 Billion; compared to Vietnam at $6.2 Billion for the 2018 year end.
