There are three series of BOM papermaking felts available in the market. They are single layer base mesh,double layer base mesh and multi layer base mesh.According there structures,they can be divided into BOM formed felt,BOM pressed felt,BOM upper felt,BOM
dryer felt,BOM pulp board felt and so on.

BOM paper making felts are generally made of the base mesh layer and the fiber layer.The base mesh can be single,double or multi layers. The double base mesh
layer can also have a 1+1 laminated. The multi layer base mesh can also be divided into 1+2 or 2+2 laminated. All mesh bases are woven by monofilament or twisted monofilament yarns. The fiber layers are woven by different sizes of polyamide fibers.Fiber layers and base mesh layer are attached by needle stitching to form the felt

The Forming Fabric on paper machine plays a very important part in the forming of the fibre mat into a uniform and consistent web of fibres. The Forming Fabric is a finely woven fabric designed to support the fibrous suspension and assist with the drainage of the stock suspension. They are classified by surface structure, often 2 or 3 layers, and by open area. They normally have a finer mesh on the top of the structure with a coarse supportive mesh on the non-paper side. During the forming process the Forming Fabric allows the water to pass through the voids between the filament weaves of the wire while the fibre forms a mat on top of the Forming Fabric. The Forming fabric is a continuous belt which not only allows the water to be drained evenly through the fabric while forming a fibrous mat, it also transfers the web over the forming area (Forming Table) as part of the continuous paper making process. The Forming fabric design will influence the sheet formation. The forming fabric open area, the number of layers used in the fabric structure and the size of the filaments used will determine the drainage rate and the size of the fibrous and filler particles which are maintained within the sheet (Web) structure (Retention). Forming Fabrics require good continuous or semi continuous cleaning to maintain their drainage properties Traditionally Forming Fabrics were made from Bronze wire, interwoven to the correct mesh dependant on the grade to be produced, now days the Forming Fabrics are made from a combination of Polyester and other synthetic materials interwoven into single double and triple layered fabrics.
