Leopold Bossert

Using a variety of unusual techniques and fabrics, Leopold Bossert created a unique effect for his clothes; including latex coated kangaroo leather and titanium inserts, truly authentic handmade luxury. All the clothes are made in Austria by a small team of skilled workers, niche and unique. The meticulous craftsmanship and design have allowed Leopold Bossert's work to enhance the traditional men's tailoring. By reusing the old sewing machine, Bossert carefully crafted clothes with unique details using fine fabrics. The special thing about Leopold Bossert is his stitches. He was the first designer who could sew double overlocks. It was different from ordinary decorative stitching. His technique could be very thick. Carpet thread is used on thin and soft t-shirt fabrics to maximize the reinforcement of clothing without damaging the fabric. At the same time, he was the first to apply chain-seam to suits and trousers besides CCP. In his works, Leopold Bossert clearly emphasized the relationship between material and structure. From 1950 to 1960, the tools used by Leopold Bossert were mostly discarded machines. They were originally used in all areas of industrial production, from making containers to sewing potato bags and carpet edges. These machines have been specially modified to make fine fabrics. The quality and shape of stitches made by these ancient machines cannot be replicated by modern machines.
