Cellulose ethers are an important class of commercial water-soluble polymers used in construction and construction industries. Cellulose ethers can increase the viscosity of aqueous media. Methyl cellulose MC, methyl hydroxyethyl cellulose MHEC, ethyl hydroxyethyl cellulose EHEC, methyl hydroxypropyl cellulose MHPC, hydroxyethyl cellulose HEC, Hydrophobically modified hydroxyethyl cellulose HMHEC alone or in combination is the most widely used cellulose ether in mortar formulations.
